Hi,

This is a pretty serious problem for me,
and I'd really appreciate some pointers, if possible please.

My forum is slow - 15 seconds page refresh/changes.

I have a spare domain and database at another webhost
provider... can I take a copy of my forum and port it across
to my spare provision to see if it works faster there?

I ask this as I think where the forum is held the webprovision
is shared and therefore slow.

Any other ideas are welcomed. I have optimised the database and tables etc. I have no other maintenance tasks to do.

First helpful thing you can do is provide us a link.

yes, it is, and I accept that.

However, I have been asked not to.

I simply wondered if there was anything server-side I should be aware of?

Really very little we can suggest without a URL. We might be able to see what the slowness is straight away. It's like asking a mechanic what the knocking noise in your engine is without taking your car along, only so much he's going to be able to do.

But if we can't have one... can you list any plugins you have and paste the debug stats from the footer of the forum.

PM someone then if your worried about giving URL away. Or are you hiding illegal activity?
