I have a question about the templates. Will the skins used in RC3 still work okay in RC4?

If you're talking templates then no, they wont and they will be reverted in the upgrade process due to the vast amount of changes which were made.

Themes however, will be updated to contain new columns but your old ones should still work fine (probably with a few adjustments).
