Hey guys,

I finished up a video in which I'm afraid to upload to Youtube because I know it will get ripped. (Meaning somebody will use an online youtube downloader and potentially reupload my video.)

Is there any way I can upload the video to my server or use some sort of video uploading service to ensure my video will not get ripped, but I can see showcase it to my forum members?

Thanks!

Fake the file extention with HTaccess and use http://www.happyworm.com/jquery/jplayer/ <that. With some modding it should work well.
Remember rule one though. If you don't want it ripped, don't put it up.
For example any video or pretty much anything that needs to access the temp folder a linux user can just wait till it buffers and copy it out of the temp folder.

Well, that seems pretty advanced. The video I'm posting, I don't think, will make anybody go that measures. I just need to make sure that you cannot rip it via an online ripper, or find the URL through source code.

Also, how would you do that through HTaccess? What would you put in there?
Its really not advanced at all. Open filemanager, go to the temp folder then copy and paste.

And http://www.blog.highub.com/apache/http-s...extension/

You might have to edit the player to allow it. I don't know. and i don't use .HTaccess much i assume anywhere is fine.
Wait, I'm confused. What do you mean open up file manager? Do you mean a person who uses linux on their computer?
Why don't you try using SWFObject and a player plugin?
I was commenting on you saying it was advanced to rip it. It isn't.
No matter what, you're gonna be able to see the video in the source code.
Except that most video downloaders can't get around a JS embed. I've tried.
@stingreay, link me.
