Is there a way (mod, plugin, acp action, etc...) that allows the mini profile location to be moved either left of a post or right of a post instead of above a post?

Go to User CP. Click Edit Options. Check Display posts in classic mode.

If you want to change it globally (for all users):

ACP >> Configuration >> Settings >> Show Thread Options >> Display posts using the classic layout
