I'm trying to update my templates, every time I press save, I then go de-activate a plug in and activate, check back, the templates not saved... I'm trying to configure my tabbed menu.
I just got it working after 3 times, but still a small problem.
So what's no saving exactly?? The changes you make or the changes from the plugin...??
The changes I made in the Templates didn't save easily.
They work fine for me. What happens if you just make an edit and then refresh the page and not do anything with plugins, what happens then??
So what code are you edited and what code is the plugin editing...??

I'm not sure, it all seems working good now, so it's good.
I was editing Index page and forumbit_depth1_cat.
De-activating a plugin will remove any template edits it makes.
Some plugins wont add them back when you re-activate them, you need to manually add the lines. I know the tabbed menu works like this.
