Useless since websites won't server you anywhere near that fast. At some point you'll be throttled.
Virgin Media can only do that in the UK because of their cable 'fibre-optic' network, and even then 100mpbs is very unlikely. Providing these speeds and TV along the same cables is pretty much impossible 100% of the time.
BT have been rolling out FTTC and FTTH/P, and will be reaching 40% of the UK population by 2012. Not too shabby really for a country that still has a victorian-era infrastructure.
Wasn't the gov of the uk gonna try get wireless for most parts of the country? :p
