I upgraded my 1.4 to 1.6, there isn't many modifications for 1.6 yet so I want to go back to 1.4 until there is, how could I go about doing this?
You can't, you should just revert to the backup you made before you upgraded. We don't write downgraders or recommend people do it. Planning an upgrade is important, that includes checking that any plugins you'll need are available.
I did a downgrade just fine.
1. Download the merge system.
2. Install a new MyBB 1.4.14
3. Run merge system on 1.6 DB into the 1.4x DB
4. Do not run the settings merge. It causes more hassle than it's worth imho.
That's it. You won't get the template or plugins but that will work to get you back into a base 1.4. I did it just fine and then I even merged the new 1.4 into another 1.4 successfully.
Why the hell did you upgrade in the first place?? You should really check that the modifications you have on your 1.4 forum exist for 1.6, before you just charge in and upgrade.
