Is it possible to allow a single user only to view a certain thread?

Lets sat there was a forum called "Toms Forum" , can i set permissions to allow only tom to view that forum ?

I don't think, but, why no put a Tom in a usergroup that can be that forum... ?

You can create a new usergroup for tom and only give that usergroup permissions for that forum.

I don't understand why you would need this though?
