Not sure if I should be posting this here or in Plugins and stuff.

But I want to install an IRC on my site, something like irc.penhacks.net if possible. I downloaded the CGIIRC mod, which told me to download CGIIRC which I did, and I uploaded those files to irc.penhacks.net but Im completly lost on how to install it since I went to irc.penhacks.net and nothing happened.

Or is there a better IRC that I can use?

Most hosts disallow it hosting irc servers on their TOS.
The one your using is a client though so that's not an issue.

Some hosts don't allow IRC so I'd check into that. And it'd be better and faster just to get a channel on an already IRC server.

IRC For your site, This is what I do for my clients.

1. Register a channel on a network (freenode, rizon, etc)
2. Go to mibbit and make a widget for your site
3. Copy the code in the template you want (global, index, portal)

Done

Mibbit doesn't work with freenode FYI. They want you to use their webchat. (http://webchat.freenode.net)
