Ive seen this asked a few times but not found an answer i understand.

Basically the site i run is getting loads and loads of spam registrations and it seems nothing is stopping them!

I have changed it to admin activation, but i dont get any emails about it??

Is there an easier way........................

It doesn't send you an email by default, you need a plugin for it. If you're still running 1.4, use this: http://mods.mybb.com/archive/view/email-...ew-members

At the end of the day though there's only so much a spam prevention script can do; if a human fills out the registration form they can get past any checks.

But by that method they are still showing in my members list.

What i would like is to prevent them from being able to register in the first place.

You're referring to the blacklisting system where if an email is on the spammers blacklist downloadable from the web it disallows registration, yes?

erm, i spose! lol, sounds like the kind of thing!

Its just to stop the spam accounts from making it anywhere near the forum

Any idea how to do it??????????????????
