For the last two months that link opens up to a page where the hosting company says it has expired 2 months earlier and is avaiable to register, so I removed that link, as there are only a bunch of things that the hosting company is selling, is it ok if i removed that link?

Contact the theme author.

I would assume it's fine to remove the link if there's nothing at that specific link, best contacting the author of your forum's theme to be certain though.

Yea contact him if you can , tell him you'll put the link back up when and if he/she has an active forum/website.
