I'm editing groups right now, and i noticed that by default the REGISTERED group has the ability to delete their threads and posts.

Does this mean all the replies to their threads get deleted as well? is there a way to set a time limit that they must do this in?

other forums have it where they can delete it after x mount of minutes if there are no replies.

I'm very worried about this feature and the trouble that it could cause.

No, if OP deletes their post, poster #2 becomes OP.
Deleting the thread will remove all posts yes, I'd uncheck that.

I've not seen a plugin which fulfills your request.
