After upgrading from 1.4 to 1.6; I noticed that thread display is not showing up correctly. I am pretty sure its colspan problem and also tried to alter the columns but could not solve the problem.

You will notice the thread lists are out of place. It does not happen to all threads, just the threads under sub-forums.

Any idea what might cause this?

Open the forumdisplay_subforums template.

There's two instances of:

<td class="tcat" width="2%">&nbsp;</td><td class="tcat" width="2%">&nbsp;</td>

Delete one of them.
