i have m8 i dont know what am doing wrong i only want to use it for the sitemap i added the rewrite in the htaccess file but still asks me to add it

can u set the sitemap so it like this sitemap.xml instead of this plz misc.php?google_seo_sitemap=index as webmasters tools doesnt take misc.php?google_seo_sitemap=index as a sitemap
