Why pay at all?! Get a free toolbar.
Personnally ive used free toolbars in the past and nothing compares to cometchat , thats my opinion anyway

You can't expect everything for free. Yes there is tons of great free software but sometimes you just have to suck it up and buy something but it works a hell of a lot better.

There are times when free doesn't compare. If you are running a very large forum, with a lot of traffic, and a lot of people that are angered (Like Ogame for example) MyBB ideally would be harder to run, because of all the features needed. WoltLab is a better choice for them really.
Would you recommend the new york times to start using blogger? Not really. They had to pay to make their own system. There are times when FOSS just doesn't cut it. Or takes to much to make it cut it.
