Sounds like a massive change over Bob's overdose on rageroids. Gaara, just enjoy being in the community instead of making 15 posts a day complaining about something new. I'm not flaming you so don't take it the wrong way, but all I see you post is how you've reported a thread because its not appropriate. You are trying to hard to suck up to the staff. I'm sure you do some very good work here, but it's over the top now to the point I don't want to post something humorous incase you (and a select few others) go and blab your mouths to the nearest staff member because you can't take a joke.

Some people want to showcase their community, but not recieve feedback on it. That could be for many different reasons.
It's exactly that, a showcase forum, to showcase your board.
It's not the MyBB Forum Reviews & Feedback forum.
Anyway, it's totally up to staff. It seems fairer if you have the choice of options.
Remember ghazal's vB theme thread? It went something like this:
(2009-06-01, 06:34 PM)Uncontrol Wrote: [ -> ]Perhaps the ugliest MyBB theme yet. And that's including Dalton's "April Fool's" theme which was intentionally hideous.

Do you have any other words except calling the same hideous and ugly related words in all the posts ??
After seeing this theme, I am amazed I can find any words at all.
(2009-06-02, 08:44 AM)ghazal Wrote: [ -> ]so you then just spoke those irritating words... ?
(2009-06-02, 08:50 AM)Uncontrol Wrote: [ -> ]There are points where so-called "constructive criticism" simply isn't appropriate or meaningful anymore. You are not taking any of the advice you are given, you are simply reworking the same bad concepts repeatedly and putting them out there. You cannot expect that people are not going to speak their mind about them, especially considering the sheer volume of it that you post. It seems every time I come here you have a new half-hearted theme or plugin, and the most insulting part is you have the gall to elevate yourself to the point of charging for it.
(2009-06-02, 09:26 AM)Ryan Loos Wrote: [ -> ]ghazal, Bey Brad is not insulting you. He's giving feedback on your work.
People have stated time and time again that they believe you need to spend more time on themes, colour combinations and images.
It seems to me that as soon as you see the word ugly, bad or horrible in a post you automatically assume they are insulting you, but they are only stating their feelings on your work.
At the end of the day the community here are the ones who are your customers. If you don't listen to them then you are not going to be very successful.

All that would end up doing is give rise to more complaints that people are getting banned for nothing. "I don't think I did anything wrong", "why did user X get banned for this" etc etc, all the stuff we already get. I mean, one minute we're being told we're too ban happy, even when we do ban people for going off on one in the showcase forums, but now it would be okay to give a week long ban for a first offence?? I don't know about anybody else but that sounds like a massive contradiction to me. We're now being told to do something that usually everybody complains about and says is wrong/unfair. Why is it now OK to do this when previously it's given us nothing but grief and backlash from people??

Well I guess that depends from person to person.
Having an closed forum with a thread being posted when someone's banned (because of these issues) explaining why the user was banned (something like, username: bla bla; \n date banned: bla bla bla; \n reason: bla bla bla; \n time banned: bla bla bla
This is what I'd do. Would probably not work for you, I don't know. I guess it depends on how mods and admins handle what others say about them. Having things like these publicly would probably help a lot though.

What's this got to do with anything? I'm making a valid point in trying to improve the site for me and others as well.
What you said was basically "just let the forum continue to devolve into a worse mess than it is because improving it is a waste of time"
Oh and I'm not sucking up to staff, one of the threads I made in the private forum got a reply of "It's nice having people like you in our community"
@exdiogene I saw that the original thread about createBB was in request/service section. I am with you always regarding this or whatever the case maybe.

Okay thanks for your imput despite the fact that its not on topic and after-the-fact.
Anyways....I feel like all the problems can be resolved if the ONE reply rule is STRICTLY enforced.
Hello, it was in reply to this. Though it was asked to you but still as I too saw the thread in request/service section so replied.

Were you one of the few who really noticed that my thread was originaly in the "Requests/Services/Jobs" section before it was moved?
Because some people here believe that it was created in the "Showcase" section even if i can testify that i created it in the "Requests/Services/Jobs" section, as other members here can vouch for me because they seen it there at the beginning...
Thank you in advance for your answer.
And yes these type of problems can be solved only if 1 reply rule is enforced upon members strictly and members follow it.

Which is not always conveyed in the best of ways.

Sure why not? Its not your job to stop it. If it is, i can give you a list of forums to start trying to help, if you please.

Sarcasm intended?
