Since I upgraded to 1.6, I keep getting random forums showing that there are new posts in it however there isn't. Many users in my forums have experienced this too.

This is a known bug in 1.6.

Ah I went through the bug list and couldn't find this one.

Sounds like a cookie or cache thing to me. Or maybe that update forum view.
