This is something that would be really nice and help make the themes section easier to navigate. One major thing that frustrates me is having to sift through pages of themes just to find a specific one I'm looking for -- it'd help organise the theme section if they were categorised like plugins are.
What type of categories would there be?
Light, Dark, etc. Simple ones, not too specific. Just enough so it clears up the clutter in the themes section.
Needs more filters & theme tags to filter by.
I think tags would be more useful than categories.
Pretty
Ugly
Plain
Pinkish
Boyish
Professional
Lazy
I think those are good cats.

You forgot super sexy and sexy.
Though plus one for tags, it would be so ideal.
Tags would probably be best, really (most likely pre-defined, I think). That way you can classify something as both "professional" and "blue," for instance.

This.

Colors should be their own thing imo (separate from tags, though still in the same area upon submission [grouped'), with the colors listed so you don't get one listing for "barf green" or something. Also, colors should be checked over by the person who verifies it so we don't end up with green themes coming up under blue or something (unless of course they have both as main colors).
It's hard to use tags because so many people don't take advantage of them.
