ok, finally got enough to build my new rig. However 1 thing.

My board support DDR3 Dual channel. Max 16GB

Can I buy just one of these? Or, with dual channel, should i install them 2 at a time?
Two at a time. Smile
If you plan on eventually get 16gb just get one otherwise I would say take advantage of the dual channel with 2 2gb sticks if you ever need more get another 2x2gb.
im looking to go to 2 x 4gb then 4 x 4gb. But I need more money first (as its £100 a stick Toungue). Would it be OK to install 1 first, wait a while, then another.

also 2x4gb save like £30

It won't hurt to only have one ram stick for awhile if that's what your asking.(just make sure when you get the second stick it's the same because that may cause issues)
If your board supports dual channeling, use it, don't waste it.

He plans to just can't afford 2x4gb sticks right now and it would be stupid to get 2x2gb if he plans on using the full 16gb limit.
But the system will still run fine yeah? With only 1 stick ATM. I was wondering if it was a requirement to have slots filled in 2's
Nope, you just don't squeeze all you can from the CPU.
