Yeah, it is a bit difficult to describe especially if you are not familiar with joomla template design (I wasn't until a few months ago) but to give you an idea I will upload the bare template for you to have a look at.
Ok I have made the bare template available at

the only difference I have made is to add basic labels to describe each area and set the minimum height of the template to 350px in the head section.
This is the template without any Joomla intervention you can do a view source to see what I mean
Hmm, I fear we may be straying off-topic here if you want to ask me a bit more about the template and joomla perhaps it would be better for you to email me direct at [[email protected]][email protected][/email] unless they have a section here on the forum for such discussions
