Well My Super mods have the actual super mods ability, edit post delete threads and BAN users. Now in order for my Moderator group to delete/edit/move etc I need to make the have the check box checked for "super mod" but i dont want them to have the power to ban users. Can I stop my mods from banning people but can edit post and such?

You don't need to put them in the super mod group. The moderators group doesn't have any mod permissions by itself, it's designed so you can keep a tab on your moderators. You need to assign your mods to forums to give them moderator permissions in forums.
