Hello, I am new to MyBB, and let me say I absolutely love it. It's absolutely amazing.

However one thing I found I couldn't do is restrict banning powers to only the administrators and super moderators.

Is there any way to do this? And if not, is this ever going to becoming available?

There's a modifications on the mod site, dunno it's name though.

one thing you could do is prevent mods from accessing ModCP

I felt like that would defeat the purpose of mods altogether considering that's where the reported posts are...
