When commenting on a thread is there anyway I can turn off quick edit so users can use the post advance all the time?
I would guess you can just remove the option in the templates and direct the button straight to the full edit

if you mean quick edit, you must edit post templates
if you mean quick reply, you can turn it off in admin panel
maybe i misunderstood thought you meant editing posts
Change your postbit_edit template to this:

Of if you mean quick reply, ACP > Configuration > Show Thread Options > Show Quick Reply Form > Off.
how do i edit postbit_edit template?
ACP > Templates & Style > Templates > **expand template set for your theme** > Post Bit Templates > postbit_edit.
