I'm looking for something that'll pull the latest post and/or the latest thread and display it like a news feed at the very top of my forums above the logo area.

you'll see at the very top something called the 'news wire'. that's basically what I'm looking for, but instead of displaying news feeds, it would display the latest posts and/or threads and have a button to shuffle through the last few.
