I was wondering if there was any way to add the Read More to Portal posts, meaning that only part of news post is shown with a read more linking to full story on forums kinda like a blog [WordPress] etc ... ?

is a plugin for this, just it's under a name that may not have had a keyword you were searching for or something =3 It adds "...More" at the end of the cut-off message, so this seems to be exactly what you're looking for. Unless posting this right after I got up proved to be a mistake and I'm not following posts very well xD

i checked the plug in out, but it still not what I am looking for. The read more is still in the same line as the thread text.

If I remember correctly the plugin adds a variable to a template. portal_announcement I think. Open that template and add <br /> before the variable, and it will force it to the next line.
