I am using Piwick stats and I noticed the number of visits seems less then is indicated in the mybb Who's Online section. I wondered which would be considered the more accurate? I assume there must be visits which Piwick is not recording, as visits in a 15 minute period shows up as less than mybb states in the Who's Online figures. (Or are there records that mybb should have deleted but hasn't yet?)

MyBB will track spiders/bots in the who's online section, and I'm not sure if Piwik will do this (or do it seperately). Also, I'm pretty sure Piwik detects users with Javascript enabled-only.

The who's online section only tracks sessions in the database, whether a user is logged in or whether the session belongs to a bot from the last 15 minutes. For website analytics, you're probably best of believing Piwik.
