I've got a suggestion for musicalmidget's shoutbox mod. How about allowing shouts from the shoutbox count towards the post count on a forum and have the shoutbox refresh every so often to clean itself out somewhat. Have the dead shouts automatically moved to a closed topic to count for post count. (NOTE: I got this idea from friends I know that use IPB 2.1.x. It's quite successful and a lot of fun too! )

well shouts are mostly spam ! so i dont guess it will be a nice idea

That's true, but I guarantee you it's no different than having a "Spam All You Want" thread. It could help with getting more members to join and get more involvement. Two of my friends use IPB, have over 50,000 posts on each of their forums, and a lot of it has to do with the Shoutbox.
