i would like to make the last post read private,
instead of showing the thread subject, date/time and author.

or i would only like to display the thread title and time and not the author.
how can i achieve this?

So you want to make it so people can still read the threads but can't see the title on the index?

to remove author just remove
{$lang->by} {$lastpost_profilelink}
from your themes forumbit_depth1_forum_lastpost template

i wanted to remove the author from being seen on the index page and change the appearance. so they are spaced closer together. it's looking the way i wanted, thanks guys for the help.
