Is there any plugin so I can change my homepage? I don't want it to be a page with the forums on it, but a page where it shows the latest posts, polls... like this one:

http://www.promybb.com/portal.php (proportal) and heard it works really good... I read the readme but don't understand it. What's the exact file name I upload the file(s) to and what is the file(s) I upload? Thanks
Extract ProPortal to your forum directory, if its on /forums or if its on the main directory extract it there. Then it will install into the right folders and everything. Its a plugin, so you then go into Admin CP, and in the plugin section activate the plugin. Then a new tab should appear at the top, click that and you can configure it. Then yoursite.com/portal.php should now work. Then after it works, complete this tutorial and the portal will be the main page when you go to your forums.
Hmm it didn't work... I dont see anything in my plugins folder. I extracted it in /forums and everything. (I used Cpanel)

When you download the folder you will see a folder called Upload correct? Ok navigate to your cpanel. Once you see your sites folders (IE. the admin folder inc folder etc) ok open the admin folder in the cpanel then the modules folder. Now click the upload button and upload the portal folder into the module section.
Now go back till you see inc and go into the inc folder> language >upload the pro_portal. language.php file now go into the admin folder WITHIN the language folder and upload all the .php files for pro portal.
Navigate back to your root (IE. the admin folder inc folder etc) and upload the file "Portal" right there. Now upload the portal.php into your root (IE. the admin folder inc folder etc) Hope this helps! ^_^

No problem, I know how you feel. I started Mybb with no knowledge on anything, no Cpanel, uploading files, etc. ^_^
