That would require JS to run, Meaning if you encripted part of the footer, It would fall apart without JS, And if you only encript the copyright then more people would remove it by mistake thining they don't need it.
What about people who browse without JS?

Lol! Mark is still browsing without JS? Just modify the engine to allow only what you want sites to see. I'm pretty sure there's a plugin for that.
