Hi,
I've been searching around and unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything on this, are there any instructions on what to modify on a theme before upgrading to 1.6? I have the plugins covered.

easy way => copy & paste custom HTML + CSS from your current 1.4x theme (header with logo, banners, etc) to a 1.6* native theme, like Apart Series by Justin S.


"hard" way => open the install folder from 1.4 (latest) and 1.6 (latest) in NOTEPAD++ and find the modified code to each template of default theme

The file with template queries to 1.6 is: \upload\install\mybb_theme.xml

Hmm, if I copy over the HTML & CSS
I assume that would retain the look & all correct?

I am using a custom theme, but it's definitely not by Justin S.

I'd like to avoid any copyright / code theft.
So maybe I should stick to using MyBB 1.6's default theme.

I can install a demo board and export a copy
