when i go to the who was online today list in my forum the one user has a * after there name any one know why the link is in sig and i'm sure i allow guests to see whos online if any one needs to check.

It means they've chosen to be invisible in the User CP Options. There's a * there because you can see invisible members.

I have a little bit similar problem, by invisible users ARE visible for users without permission to view invisible one (on main page WOL list is fine...).
Page with this strange problem is Who's Online TODAY, not NOW

Any ideas?

untick the "Can view invisible users" option.

It could be better to open a new threa btw :p

Try to enable permission, and disable.
