How do I change the format of the forum icons?
I have made png's and I want those to replace on.gif and off.gif with on.png and off.png
Just rename the .png to a .gif to replace the old on/off icons.
That doesn't work, it doesn't show the images. Something in the coding says that they can only be gifs.

It should work. You need to delete the original on.gif and then rename on.png to on.gif. It might not show up the first time but after a couple refreshes it should work. That's how I replace the on/off icons in my themes.
There has got to be a code solution to this problem
