can someone tell me where in the ACP i can find the template that deals with the footer bit at the bottom of the main page that states Forum Contains New Posts, Forum Contains No New Posts, Forum is Locked as I want to get rid of the "forum team" link there.

Admin CP --> Templates --> Modify / Delete --> Expand your template set --> Expand Index Page Templates group --> index

Find and delete:

<a href="showteam.php">$lang->forumteam</a>

Delete showteam.php.
