hi. brand new to forum and mybb. (always used phpbb in past)

mySQL: 5.0

myBB version: 1.6 (new install, no upgrades, no mods)

webhost: godaddy

ftp client used: fireFTP (free mozilla ftp client)

location of forum files: root folder ( ... / ...) (not forum/... or mybb/...)

specific problem page is: http://www.-----.com/install

*** i have wiped and reuploaded twice to see if it was a failed upload, with no luck. i'm sure i'm doing something wrong. i usually use smartFTP in the past and wonder if fireFTP is the source of this issue ***

You need PHP 5.1+ for 1.6.

i'm sure this was covered in the install wiki, but i missed it somehow.

i was able to change to version 5.x in the godaddy control panel.

i'll post where to find it in case anybody has this same issue.

it says the changes will take 24 hours. arg.

at godaddy:

your account > web hosting > launch > content > add-on languages > select 4.x or 5.x (php version)
