any idea when the update will come out for 1.6?

is it compatible with the older version of game secton? or is this a brand new install?

Do a fresh install.

Game Section 1.2 is compatible with MyBB 1.6 - http://community.gamesection.org/thread-846.html

so uninstall the old oen first? will it delete all the high scores and games?

All you need to do is deactivate the games section plugin and edit the compatibilaty in the plugin file to 1.6

Then activate the plugin again.
