Email Notification by Default

Open the template member_register and search for:

$emailnotifycheck

Replace with:

checked="checked"

the above post was made a five year back, i want to perform the same, i am using mybb 1.6, please let me know how can i do this in mybb 1.6, i didnt find $emailnotifycheck is member_register file

I assume you're talking about email notification for private messages?

If you are then its {$emailpmnotifycheck} that you have to replace
