in spite of the fact.. i have that directory on my forum
So in the ./images/avatars/ folder you have a folder called gallery?? It's not a default folder, but a few other people have had this error, saying it doesn't exist. I'm not totally sure why it's even trying to load it.
All I can suggest is you create a completely empty directory called gallery in the images/avatars folder. I've never experienced this issue myself, but it seems to be rather annoying.

Go to ACP > Configuration > User Registration and Profile Options > Avatar Directory > what's this set to??
oppps that's what i call an expert advice... it was wrongly set for gallery, changes and got fixed. thank u.. again rep+ added
