I found this review http://www.forum-software.org/mybb/review
it states that mybb can only support a mid sized community Medium Community
1.000 - 9.999 members.
~150.000 posts.
could some one give me more information?

the main to im looking at are
1.SMF
2. PHPBB3

why use MYBB instead of one of them

any info is appreciated
All you need to do is look at the footer of this forum and you will see that it has over 30,000 members and this board runs fine and smooth

Go figure!
Yeah, and I've only had problems with SMF and how a simple plugin can bring an entire SMF forum down. And, PHPBB3 is much more complex than MyBB.
could someone provide me a better comparison review link?
for all 3 software,
because of what you just linked, I dont think I should bosther using that review site
would mybb be ok to use on a professional site, or should i use something else ?
Really now, are we going to direct you away from MyBB?
Using it is up to you, but everyone here is clearly pro MyBB >.>
MyBB can easily run a big site. Its your server/host that wouldn't be able to.

Here is a good comparison. MyBB is the best though.

I don't think we have any control over that information, but it's not accurate. There are multiple multi-million post forums running very well.

A lot of these comparison sites are outdated or inaccurate (for MyBB as well as other software); in my opinion seeing large forums running shows in itself that it can support it.
