I just want to know what is the difference or impact in google search between MyBB 1.6 friendly url and Google SEO plugin.
What is the impact in SEO, is it very much ??
please tell as same thing happened with me while i was on phpbb3.... an update verison of phpbb3 released, but the plugin was not updated and my links all 404
So I wanted to know is there very much difference between the 2 above so that i can take decision whether to stick with MyBB default Friendly urls or go with Google SEO pluigin (as it is the only plugin seen so far which needs core files modifications)
Here is my hypothesis.Mine only.
From better to worse:
Google SEO Plugin > MyBB Default URL > MyBB SEO Friendly URL
If functions.php (the file that has to be edited) is changed in a MyBB update, an edited version with the Google SEO edits is usually supplied soon after, but the edits are quite easy and well documented.
ok, my still my question left unanswered to an extent... what is the difference in impact? plz explain

ohhh, does default urls are better than friendly urls?? really ?? how do u say that, any personal experience??
Consider these 4 links
1.http://community.mybb.com/thread-80300.html
2.http://community.mybb.com/thread-80300-post-586521.html
3.http://community.mybb.com/showthread.php?tid=80300
4.http://community.mybb.com/showthread.php?tid=80300&pid=586521
Take link #1 and #2. Those links appear as 2 separate links to google.
But now, consider links #3 and #4. Google may understand that &pid=586521 is just a parameter and that it can be ignored.It won't duplicate crawlings. Such a thing is difficult when the parameter is in the middle of the link.
Thats just my hypothesis

You can even configure it in Webmaster tools and explicitely tell it to ignore pid= if you so desire.

I have done that too
This thing is not possible with the Default MyBB SEO Friendly URLs AFAIK
hope its allowed to revive this old thread, i just want someone to suggest me which seo friendly url plugin should i use?
As long as you have the Autosubmit url to Google (like frostschutz had), does not matter what your url have. My Url listing on Google just in few hours after thread made.
Also depend on your url or thread, how unique the title competing with other search result
