I think something's wrong with my installation. I go to my FTP client and then I go to install MyBB. Everytime it gets to the requirements check, it says that the Avatar Uploads Directory is not writable. However, whenever I CHMOD the directory, it's set on 666. Yet, I can't get beyond that point. Am I missing some files? Cause my 'avatars' folder has index.html in it. Is it suppose to be different?
I had that problem too.
Try CHMODing it to 777 a couple of times, then you can go on.

I keep doing that, but I still can't move on. Is there something wrong with my host? Cause everything else seems to work...

Ignore this post. I got it to work.
What did you do to fix it?
Folders should be chmoded to 777
so both ./uploads and ./uploads/avatars should be 777
