I had downloaded the live site database and installed it on localhost through Wamp server. Now when i try to login to the site, i'm unable to login and also when i try to login to admin panel directly, its logging in and logging out immediately after that instance, when i click on any link.

You'll need to change your cookie settings. The cookie domain will need to be blank, I can't say what the cookie path will need to be without knowing your full URL.

i recommend mybb to install, similar thread checker plugin by DeLLy, so that people will get answered before they create new thread.
