Is there a plugin or a code you can put in a thread that when you give someone a download link, they must first either post or pm?

for example.

John's thread: New text functions.

Paul reads and it says: you must post here to view download link

Paul posts

Pauls goes to first post and see's a download link.

OR!

the same way but the download link doesn't appear, Paul gets a pm with the download link.
