I'm receiving a stupid amount of spam sign ups. I have the captcha enabled and they're still getting through.

Also, going to the member list and sorting by registration date 80% of those will most likely be dud.

Any ideas to preventing this?

you can protect more by override the current captcha with recaptcha,
use below plugin

Which one of these is the better one?

Both will work 3 sounds like it would work better if you want the recaptcha to blend into your theme better though. In the end though they do the same exact thing.
