I read some where that it is not safe to have all of your forum's files permission set to 777, and I have it set to that... so i was wondering what is the normal chmod of the files when you upload it from a fresh install of mybb, and then I will chmod the required files to there required chmod, instead of having all of the files to 777

Files should be 644, folders should be 755. Did you set them all to 777 yourself...??
