just change the permissions: check off "can see forum" and un-check "can see within the forum"

this way, members can see that the froum is there but can not see anything within the forum. you can do this for each group for each forum, that way you can have one forum visible and one not visible within the same category.

i do this for the staff area on my site, i have a forum under the staff area category just for owners, one for admins/mods, and a application forum that regular members can see, all within the same category forum.

Doing this keep the forum in view, its still on the screen, i need it to go completely!
