I'm having the strangest issue with my VPS. Anytime a script makes a remote connection (EG: MyBB version check in the AdminCP, the WordPress dashboard, Flickr integration etc) everything runs extremely slowly.
The errors are always some kind of timeout or resolve failure, and everything that runs locally only is speedy. This never used to happen. Does anyone know where I can start looking (its a cPanelWHM vps)?

Change your DNS servers to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 in /etc/resolv.conf and see if that solves the issues.
Sounds like whatever resolvers you're using are starting to rot.
