Seems to me during the install wizard you entered your database info wrong. I'm not 100% sure I am right but thats what I think it is.
Go to your Cpanel or FTP and donwload the config.php file and check the database settings.

Make sure SQL on your server is running and up.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I remember when I did the install I had the option of choosing MySQL Improved and MySQL. MySQL Improved is what was set as default.
I don't know if it matters, but I changed mine to MySQL because I knew what that was. Try changing yours too.

If your database details are correct in ./inc/config.php, it'll be your host.
