I am not sure how to update my forum, when i click on the update link, this is what it says:

Can someone help me update it please?
When i save the zip file, how do i put it into the forum?

Backup your files and database, upload the 1.6 files so they overwrite the 1.4 files, go to yoursite.com/install/upgrade.php and choose your old version from the list.
Is 'yoursite.com/instal/upgrade.php' in the admin of my forum?

i just clicked on download and a pop up box popped up saying, WinRar licence is not free, what's that?

You've got WinRar installed on your computer, your computer is set to use that to open Zips, and you've not got a licence for WinRar so it's saying it's not free. Isn't anything to do with us.
Try right clicking it, choose Open With, and choose the default Zip extractor, or choose Extract if there's an option there.
When i type in that bottom url, this comes up: ot Found
The requested URL /community/install/upgrade.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Are you sure you've uploaded the contents of the Upload folder in the download, so it overwrites your current files?? If you're getting that error, either some files haven't been uploaded, or they're in the wrong place.

Is there another way i can download this without using winRar?
It's not about downloading it with WinRar, it's about extracting the contents with WinRar. WinRar is a program to extract the contents of a Zip, it's not something you download it with.
Right click the Zip once it's downloaded, just hover over the 'Open With' option, and printscreen what you see.
