I was wondering.. How do you know if a plugin from for example PR2 is compatible with the new MyBB versions? Cause there are some really nice plugins that I like to use.

Most of these plugins should be compatible with the actual MyBB version. The only way to get an answer to your question is to test them.

As long as they don't modify any code, you can be sure it's safe to test them.
